It is funny how time flies.Mallam sanusi, a man many labelled "Risk
god" has been suspended on grounds of gross financial misconduct.
I
remember how Nigerians marvelled at mallam sanusi's reforms as he
exposed the ills in an industry many thought had been properly sanitized
by soludo.
He earned plaudits and commendation for his work and
was even acknowledged by the international banking community as he got
the central bank of the year award and the government seemed to be
behind him.
But the story is different now. Mallam sanusi is
almost facing public embarrassment as he's been suspended by the
president on grounds off gross financial misconduct.
Plenty of
water has passed under the bridge but would it not be better to let him
complete his term as CBN governor? Should plenty of dust be raised over
this issue? What is the international community saying about it? I think
we should stop washing dirty linens outside.
