Skye Bank follows suit disregards FG's order,sacks 175 staff


Despite the federal government's order to banks  to put a hold on retrenchment of  staff 
pending a stakeholders meeting on July2, Skye Bank Plc on Monday extended sent 175 of its employees into the labour market.
The bank confirmed the development in a statement through which it explained that the 
affected workers failed the year 2015 appraisal exercise.



The statement read in part, 
“The staff disengagement exercise is coming a year after the bank’s successful integration with the erstwhile Mainstreet Bank, which it acquired in October 2014; the integration exercise described by analysts as a landmark in Nigeria’s banking industry has significantly improved Skye Bank’s ICT capacity and helped strengthen the bank’s service delivery.
“The bank extended its appreciation to the affected staff for serving the bank, describing them as members of the family who will always be accorded deserving respect in their future dealings with the bank.”
Just last week,Ecobank sacked 1,200 and Diamond bank fired 200.

Davido’s son- Ifeanyi Adeleke is dead.

Popular   Nigerian music star , Davido and his fiancée Chioma Rowland have just lost their child, Ifeanyi Adeleke.  Ifeanyi Adeleke died on Monday, October 31. According to information reaching the blogs , Ifeanyi Adeleke got drowned a few days after his   third birthday   which was on October 20. He was conformed dead this evening at Evercare hospital, Lagos.  This is extremely sad.
