Republican Presidential nominee, Donald Trump has finally reacted to the media outbursts that followed the now famous speech by his wife melania during the July 18th GOP Convention.
Words used by Michelle Obama in her speech during the Democratic Convention of 2008 were repeated in Melania’s speech of 2016.
I taught speech for ten years. Even my worst students would not have done this: https://t.co/QhPPC8ENUA pic.twitter.com/co5VveF5cq— Timothy Burke (@bubbaprog) July 19, 2016
Trump reacted in two Tweets today:
Good news is Melania’s speech got more publicity than any in the history of politics especially if you believe that all press is good press!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 20, 2016
The media is spending more time doing a forensic analysis of Melania’s speech than the FBI spent on Hillary’s emails.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 20, 2016
Meredith Melver, the writer who worked on Melania’s speech also released a statement today. According to her, Melania shared phrases from Michelle’s speech as some of the words that inspired her. Meredith said she wrote them down and they were included in the final speech delivered by Melania.
She regretted not reading Michelle’s speech before including the words read to her by Melania in the draft that led to the final speech.
Melver said that she offered her resignation, which Donald Trump rejected, saying that it is normal for people to make innocent mistakes and we learn and grow from the experiences.
