Family and friends have been left completely heartbroken after a man who disappeared during a night out, was found dead inside a canal.
The body of Caspar Blackburn, a young man who disappeared on a night out has been found in a canal in Manchester.
According to Metro UK, police found the body of 22-year-old Caspar Blackburn during a week-long search following his disappearance on Sunday October 1.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed a man’s body was recovered from Bridgewater Canal, shortly after 10am on Saturday October 7.
Caspar went missing during a night out at the Slug and Lettuce Waterside, and was last seen on CCTV sitting with friends at around 2am.
A police investigation was launched when Caspar didn’t pick up his car from outside a friend’s home later that day and failed to arrive for work as an assistant manager of Carpetright, in Macclesfield.

A GMP spokesman said on Saturday: ‘The body of a man has been found in the canal in Sale.
‘Officers searching for missing man Caspar Blackburn, 22, were called shortly after 10am on Saturday 7 October 2017, to a report that there was a body in the canal in Sale, near to Springfield Road.
‘Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances which led to the man’s death however, it is not believed to be suspicious.’
His grieving family say they have been touched by the ‘outpouring of emotion’ as a crowdfunding campaign for the popular young man’s funeral raised thousands in a matter of hours.
A statement on a Just Giving page reads: ‘He was such a young, kind hard working soul and car enthusiast who would help anyone.
‘The public outpouring of emotion has touched the family deeply and we’ve been approached with offers of donations.
‘Therefore we have set this page up for anyone who wishes to donate.’
GMP added: ‘Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances which led to the man’s death however, it is not believed to be suspicious.’
