Man to be compensated with $21 million after spending 39 years in prison for a double murder he didn't commit

Craig Coley, 71, will be compensated with $21 million after he was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole for a crime he didn't commit. Coley spent 39 years in prison after Rhonda Wicht and her 4-year-old son, Donald was found murdered on November 11, 1978. Donald had been smothered, Wicht had been strangled with a macrame cord and it appeared someone had staged the scene to look like a burglary. Wicht, 24, had also been raped.

Lagos police command denies reports of Area boys attacking Igbo traders in Oshodi

The Lagos state police command has dispelled rumors that some Area boys are attacking Igbo traders in Oshodi, Lagos state. Reports were rife online earlier today that some hoodlums in Oshodi were attacking Igbo traders in Oshodi and stopping them from openning their shops. The Lagos state police command spokesperson, Chike Oti, in a statement released this afternoon, said there is no truth to the reports. Read the statement below

President Buhari  has won Osun State, the second officially declared presidential election result by Independent National Electoral Commission,  INEC. In the result announced by the returning officer,  Professor Ogundipe , President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress polled 347, 634 votes, while  Atiku Abubakar  of the Peoples Democratic Party got 337, 377 votes. Atiku Abubakar Leading Narrowly In Adamawa State

PDP Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is narrowly leading in the recently announced election results in Adamawa State. Results received thus far from 16 of the state’s 21 local government areas shows Atiku Abubakar is in a slim lead with 22,000 votes.

INEC Declares Ondo South Senatorial Election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday in Okitipupa, Ondo State, declared Ondo South Senatorial election inconclusive. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Otunba Nicholas Tofowomo of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 79,029 votes, while his closest rival, the current Senator, Mr Yele Omogunwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 51,993 votes at the Saturday’s National Assembly elections.

Okorocha gets a Senate seat! Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has been declared Senator-elect for Imo West Senatorial zone. The Collation Officer, Professor Ibeawuchi Francis, announced Okorocha winner, after he polled a total of 97,762 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jones Onyereri of the PDP who scored 63.117 votes.

Senator Dino Melaye has won the race for Kogi West Senatorial District, beating his arch-rival Senator Smart Adeyemi of the APC. According to an announcement by INEC Returning Officer, Professor Emmanuel Bala, Melaye polled 85, 395 votes to defeat Sen. Smart Adeyemi who scored 66, 901 votes.

The deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has been declared the winner of his Enugu West Senatorial District for the fifth consecutive time.
