A Federal High Court, Abuja, has ordered the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Ishaq Moddibo Kawu, to appear before it to answer allegations concerning his involvement in the mismanagement of N2.5 billion seed grant for the Digital Switch-Over programme of the federal government, even if it is on a stretcher. Kawu, who was to be arraigned alongside Lucky Omoluwa and Dipo Onifade, Chairman of Pinnacle Communications Limited and the Chief Operating Officer respectively, over their alleged complicity in the mismanagement of the N2.5 billion seed grant, failed to appear before Justice F. O. Giwa, claiming to be on admission at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State.

19 persons including seven school pupils and 12 adults, have been rescued from the three-storey building that collapsed in the Ita-Faji area of Lagos Island today Wednesday March 13th.  Rescue operations spearheaded by men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are still ongoing while the police and other security operatives are monitoring the security situation at the scene.

Investigators have found the flight data recorders from an Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed on Sunday.   The devices recovered at the crash site were the Boeing 737 Max 8's cockpit voice recorder and digital flight data recorder. The plane was en route from Addis Ababa to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, when it crashed six minutes after take-off, killing all 157 people on board.   Several airlines have grounded the Boeing model following the disaster. The months-old aircraft came down near the town of Bishoftu, 60km (37 miles) south-east of the capital at 08:44 local time (05:44 GMT).

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday continued its declaration of results of the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections conducted across the country on Saturday. But for the first time since 1999 that the nation embraced democracy, INEC declared governorship poll in six states inconclusive. The states affected are Kano, Sokoto, Benue, Bauchi, Adamawa and Plateau. While INEC has stopped the announcement of results in Rivers State due to the violence that engulfed the state, the commission has also controversially halted the announcement of the governorship election in Kano State which shows the Peoples Democratic Party is leading.

An unidentified passenger onboard Delta Air Lines flight to Lagos from Atlanta, United States, died three hours to landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Iyanya has spilled more after Ubi yesterday countered his claims by releasing documents which also carried Iyanya’s name – something Iyanya had denied. Iyanya however says, the real deal at CAC has his name missing and Ubi’s brothers names were replaced with his. He also revealed that Emma Nyra was the one that coined the MMMG. Ubi says their war started when he was in America with Tekno. A plane was forced to return because a mother on the flight forgot her baby on the ground . According to  Gulf News,  Flight SV832, from Jeddah to Kuala Lampur, turned back after the Saudi mother told cabin crew that she had forgotten her baby in the boarding area at the terminal of the King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

Kim Kardashian is offering to help former prisoner Matthew Charles stand on his feet following his release from prison. The reality TV star, who advocates for prison reform and helped secure the release of Alice Johnson from jail last year, will be paying Matthew Charles' rent for the next five years. New prison reform laws saw Charles released after serving 20 years of his 35-year sentence for non-violent drug and weapons charges. Craig Coley, 71, will be compensated with $21 million after he was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole for a crime he didn't commit. Coley spent 39 years in prison after Rhonda Wicht and her 4-year-old son, Donald was found murdered on November 11, 1978. Donald had been smothered, Wicht had been strangled with a macrame cord and it appeared someone had staged the scene to look like a burglary. Wicht, 24, had also been raped.

The Lagos state police command has dispelled rumors that some Area boys are attacking Igbo traders in Oshodi, Lagos state. Reports were rife online earlier today that some hoodlums in Oshodi were attacking Igbo traders in Oshodi and stopping them from openning their shops. PDP Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is narrowly leading in the recently announced election results in Adamawa State. Results received thus far from 16 of the state’s 21 local government areas shows Atiku Abubakar is in a slim lead with 22,000 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday in Okitipupa, Ondo State, declared Ondo South Senatorial election inconclusive. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Otunba Nicholas Tofowomo of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 79,029 votes, while his closest rival, the current Senator, Mr Yele Omogunwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 51,993 votes at the Saturday’s National Assembly elections.

Okorocha gets a Senate seat! Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has been declared Senator-elect for Imo West Senatorial zone. The Collation Officer, Professor Ibeawuchi Francis, announced Okorocha winner, after he polled a total of 97,762 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jones Onyereri of the PDP who scored 63.117 votes.

Senator Dino Melaye has won the race for Kogi West Senatorial District, beating his arch-rival Senator Smart Adeyemi of the APC. According to an announcement by INEC Returning Officer, Professor Emmanuel Bala, Melaye polled 85, 395 votes to defeat Sen. Smart Adeyemi who scored 66, 901 votes.

The deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has been declared the winner of his Enugu West Senatorial District for the fifth consecutive time. Mr Ekweremadu’s political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also won the two House of Representatives seats in the district. The district has five local governments’ areas of Oji River, Aninri, Ezeagu, Awgu, and Udi.
