Omotola Becomes First Celebrity in Eastern Mediterranean University

Nollywood star Actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is really going places and making impact everywhere she goes. Last week, on the 14th of May, at the Northern Cyprus, the respected United Nations (UN) ambassador and Activist, was at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) where she was billed as a special guest and speaker at the school's career fest. She was the first celebrity ever invited by the foremost University during its career opportunity forum. She was welcomed at the Ercan International airport by the Rector, Vice Rector, Academic Staff and Representative of African students of the school. Later, Omotola was taken around the school and the Island. The highpoint of the four days visit was Omotola's day where Academic staff and students of the school gathered enthusiastically to listen to Omotola speak on Motivation, career opportunities and personal achievement.  She really motivated the students also as she gave personal advice to students with challenges. Ngozi Ezeonu celebrates her birthday today (May 23). The pretty actress just added another year to her years today. The actress who has been on a low profile, has made a valuable impact to the growth of the Nollywood industry since she came into the business. The Anambra State born actress, holds a diploma in Journalism, which she practiced briefly, before making her entry into the Nollywood in 1993. The first movie in which she appeared, was 'Nneka, The Pretty Serpent.' Some of her other movies are Adesuwa, Royal Tears, Eyes of the Nun, Entanglement, and many others.

On-air-personality, Toke Makinwa, has expressed that the reason why most ladies prefer to go out with married men, is because of the fact that they are more experienced than the single guys. Toke pointed out that apart from the experience, romance and financial capability; the married men are equal to the task. She added that single ladies are pushed into going out with married men because the single guys are not always truthful and are scarce to find. Meanwhile, speculations have it that the said marriage between Toke and Maje, some months back were not true as the said marriage was staged for a proposed TV reality show that has been put under the carpet since due to Maje’s refusal to go on with the show.

Veteran Nigerian actress, Rachael Oniga, who is well known for her motherly role in movies and also loved by many, had it rough in her marriage, which resulted in her separating from her heartthrob, who is now late. She recently revealed the reason behind her crashed marriage. Speaking with the Sun, the talented actress disclosed that her late husband left her for another woman. She lamented that she was initially shocked by the development because she had trusted her man, but decided to move on without having any other man in her life since then. “During our years of courtship and marriage, I never thought we could just break up like that or anything could ever come between us. The industry is too bad for me to allow my children - Olaiya

Nigerian Nollywood actor, Olaiya Igwe, has revealed that he will not allow any of his children to go into acting because the industry is not ideal for them to go into. Olaiya said, ‘the industry is too bad for me to allow my children to delve into due to some kind of people in the industry.’ He added that in order for the industry to be more lucrative and well sanitized, every entertainment stakeholders need to sit up and get their priorities right to help create a good and enabling environment for the up and coming stars.

 Fast rising Nigerian actress, Vivica Ijeoma Anuforo, has revealed that she can play any role in movies perfectly without having to show her bare body. According to the actress, she has her dignity to protect and as such, would not want to tarnish her image in the name of posing or acting unclothed. “I can go very far in interpreting any role and can do all that without going unclad. Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah will feature in a new movie produced by Abdul Salam Mumuni and directed by AMVCA award-winning Frank Rajah Arase and is scheduled to premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on the 24th of May. The movie, 'Sisters At War' book 2, which will features the star actresses including, Okawa Shaznay, Koffi Ajorlolo, Frank Artus, Eddie Watson, and Bismark Odoi, is a continuation of the drama in 'Sisters At War'. From the trailer, the movie tells a tale of love, hatred, personal ambition, politics, wealth, family, power and greed, with everyone interested in the demise of the other.

Eniola Badmus turns radio presenter

Popular Nigerian Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, aka 'Gbo Gbo Bigz Girls,' is a Nigerian make-believe star who is famous for her different roles in movies. Eniola, a graduate of Theatre Arts from the prestigious University of Ibadan is not relenting in her efforts as she now has a radio show named ‘Your Head Dey There.’ According to the actress, the show is a ‘question-and-answer program’, which will focus on the environment, especially for people in the city of Lagos. She added that there will be cash prizes for listeners who can correctly answer questions on the show. The programme will be aired at 6pm on every Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays on Wazobia and Naija FM stations.
