  Reports say a prison break has occurred at the Koton Karfe Medium Security Prison in Kogi State at about 7.10am on Saturday.  Thirteen inmates of the Kogi/Koton Karfe Prison broke out of the facility in the wee hours of Saturday. The incident occurred at the newly built medium prison along Opareke Road in Koton Karfe Town. The medium prison was commissioned last year by the former Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro.  

One person was left dead after a policeman shot in the air   A police officer has shot dead a civil servant who was among many others protesting at the Nassarawa State Government House over the review of their salaries.  A police officer has shot one person dead while injuring several others after he shot at protesting Civil servants in Nassarawa state yesterday, July 29th, 2016.   The workers had gathered in front of the state government house to wait for the outcome of the meeting the state Nigerian Labour Congress chapter was having with the state government on the proposed review of their salaries, when a police officer fired shots into the air.     The bullet hit one of the protesting civil servant leaving him dead while others sustained injury as they ran for safety. The police command says they are investigating the matter.

Talented Nollywood actor, Ani Iyoho get burnt and currently fighting for his life after a location tragedy on set of a movie being directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare. According to report the actor was severely burnt on the set of Behind the Wheels in Lekki, Lagos yesterday when a fire scene went horribly wrong. Confusion ensued and despite efforts to use fire extinguishers to put the fire under control, the tragedy could not be averted

It was a day of sorrow and sadness on Tuesday, July 26th -as identical twin sisters were laid to rest beside each other.  According to Adebayo Adetutu who lives in Akure, Ondo state, the sisters died the same minute. The cause of their tragic deaths was not revealed.
