David Mark Wins Senate Ticket For 5th Term


Senate President David Mark survived a grilling electoral battle to pick the ticket for the Benue South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Earlier report had suggested that Mark, representing the Peoples Democratic Party, who is seeking his fifth term in the Senate, might have been defeated.



Latest result has however indicated that the Senate President has survived his toughest battle ever since he started contesting the ticket from the zone since the return to democratic rule in the country in 1999.
Meanwhile, Governor Aliyu Wammakko of Sokoto State(APC); his Plateau State counterpart, Jonah Jang(PDP); Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji(PDP); and Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State(APC), have won their Senatorial election to represent their respective zones in their states
