Waje Gets Black Canadian Awards Nomination

After many years of being under celebrated, singer Waje is finally getting the attention and recognition she deserves. From series of well-paid shows, Glo endorsement deal, Headies award to international awards nod.

The songstress has been nominated in the ‘International Act’ category of the 2014 ‘Black Canadian Awards‘ scheduled to hold on March 1 at the Queen Elizabeth Theater in Toronto.

Waje and five others, including Ghanaian Reggae star Samini, will be contending in that category.
The awards show celebrates the success stories and the achievement of trail-blazers and leaders within the black community. Categories for the awards are: Business and Professional Excellence, Community Development, Entertainment and Role Models.

Update: Parents rush hospitals in Lagos Island to see the state of their children rescued from collapsed school building

19 persons including seven school pupils and 12 adults, have been rescued from the three-storey building that collapsed in the Ita-Faji area of Lagos Island today Wednesday March 13th.  Rescue operations spearheaded by men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are still ongoing while the police and other security operatives are monitoring the security situation at the scene.
